What you are paying for

The underlying records are public. What you get is the watching: a clean weekly cut of only the new filings, in the counties you care about, with the fields you need, in your inbox without anyone on your team downloading and diffing a 90 MB state file every Monday.

What it is not

It is not a same-day alert. The state publishes its file about once a week, so a filing typically reaches you four to eleven days after the Water Board processes it. It is not a bid list, and it includes no sites below one acre, which do not require an NOI.

Questions

What is an NOI?
A Notice of Intent is the form a project owner files with the State Water Board to obtain coverage under California's Construction General Permit. It is required for construction that disturbs one acre or more, and it must be filed before ground is broken. Once processed, the site receives a WDID number and becomes an active permitted site.
Where does the data come from?
From the State Water Board's SMARTS database, as republished on the California Open Data Portal. NOI Watch reads the public file, keeps only the new filings in your counties, and formats them. Nothing is scraped from private systems and nothing is added that the filer did not submit.
How fresh is it?
The state refreshes its file roughly weekly. Each issue covers filings processed since the previous issue. Expect a filing to reach you four to eleven days after the Water Board processes it.
Does it include contact details?
Yes. The Legally Responsible Person's name, email and phone are part of the public filing, and subscribers receive them as filed. The public sample above shows only whether they are present.
Can I get other counties or the whole state?
Yes. Reply to any issue with the counties you want. Statewide runs about 75 new filings a week.
How do I cancel?
